Carrier Corp., the world’s leader in high technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, continues to have success with its CO2OLtec(TM) technology, having been selected as a supplier for the new Handelshof Cash & Carry store in Hamm, Germany. This new store is a milestone for Handelshof, as it will be the first store in its chain to install a sustainable and energy efficient CO2OLtec refrigeration system along with a fully integrated high efficiency heat recovery system. With this solution, Handelshof can significantly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp. The new store, to be opened in Hamm in September 2010, will include a Carrier CO2OLtec refrigeration system using CO2, a natural refrigerant. “For our new Handelshof C&C store in Hamm, we want to implement our corporate master plan for sustainability and environmental safety also in the field of refrigeration systems. The environmentally advanced CO2OLtec technology as well as the efficient use of heat recovery, as provided by our partner Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, is the best solution to ensure the achievement of our goals,” said Wolfgang Baer, CEO, Handelshof Group. “The refrigeration plant of this store will be equipped with an integrated heat recovery system, which will reduce heating energy consumption by 80 percent. In addition, the state-of-the-art refrigeration system using CO2 refrigerant in a medium- and low- temperature application significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions,” Baer added. “Carrier has the right refrigerant solution for every application, but not every application will have the same refrigerant solution. CO2OLtec is a powerful sustainable solution for food retailers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” Delpech added. About Carrier Corp. Contact: |
